HOW THE ORYGUN GUNFIGHTERS BEGAN
A cowboy fast draw club in Forest Grove, Oregon
The history of the Orygun Gunfighters began as many fast draw clubs have begun over the years. The club started because I was too impatient to wait for someone else to begin one. I didn’t intend to start Oregon’s first Cowboy Fast Draw club. It just turned out that way, because I wanted a local place to shoot.
28 Gunfighters from the California, Ohio and Pennsylvania participated in the April Internet Shoot.
For June we are defending the Gulch with the help of our gunfighter friends from Scotland. On this side of the pond we will shoot a 15 shot index contest – 5″ balloons at close range using shotgun primers. On their side of the pond they will be shooting balloon targets using partially blocked barrel or side venting blank guns. Practice the event all you want this month but pick ONE session as the real deal. Send those times to me during the last week of June. Big John Skinner will be helping me with the final tally.
