Well… here are the results of the July Internet Shoot.  Better late than never is all I got to say since my life took a priority over my love for Fast Draw this month.  As soon as the Santos Ford Showdown was over the family and I took a much needed vacation to Disneyland at the end of July.  Getting the girls ready for the new school year made August a blur!

For those who still may be able to shoot an August Internet event let’s shoot S/W at 10′, 12′ and 15′.  Make sure to send the times to Big John (bigdogjohn at sbcglobal dot net) and copy me.  Big John Skinner signed on to help me put all the individual results together so all I have to do is format the web pages which cuts my work in half.

A new GunFighter Gulch record was set when 65 Gunfighters from the United States and Scotland joined together to write yet another chapter in Fast Draw history by participating in the second GunFighter Gulch International Internet Shoot. 

Across the pond our friends from The Gunslingers Club brought the Border Raiders Club to the party.  Here in the United States gunfighters from 6 states gathered together to share Fast Draw with them.  I think we may have to make this a regular thing!  Yee Haw… Shoot It All… Worldwide!!!

For June we are defending the Gulch with the help of our gunfighter friends from Scotland.  On this side of the pond we will shoot a 15 shot index contest – 5″ balloons at close range using shotgun primers.  On their side of the pond they will be shooting balloon targets using partially blocked barrel or side venting blank guns.  Practice the event all you want this month but pick ONE session as the real deal.  Send those times to me during the last week of June.  Big John Skinner will be helping me with the final tally.

     I also encourage all of you to consider buying at least one raffle ticket to help a fellow shooter named Bob Huddleston who has survived major organ transplant surgery and is now on the long road to recovery.   The grand prize in the raffle is a special edition Jim Martin AWA Ultimate SAA chambered in .45 Colt that was hand built/tuned by Jim and a exquisite one of a kind fully carved cowboy rig from Bill Kelly.  Included in this magnifcent prize package are the hand crafted one piece grips shown in the picture and a beautiful gun box both made by Ed Farnsworth.  Tickets are $10 each or 12 for $100.  The deadline for mail in ticket sales will be April 22, 2009.  Tickets will still be available for purchase for the guests attending the Jim Martin Invitational May 2 and 3.
