Gordie Peer, Okeechobee, FL, has thrilled Wild West show fans since the 1940s with fancy gun handling, trick roping, bullwhip stunts, and shooting exhibitions, giving fans a glimpse into the real Old West. Peer is still “on the road” performing at Western shows in Branson , Missouri , North Carolina , and Arkansas. Gordie taught his good friend the Lone Ranger (Clayton Moore) the art of gunspinning. Gordie and Moore teamed up for a number of appearances at fairs and rodeos during Moore 's last years.
